USAID: Lake Victoria Tilapia Cage Culture Development
Under exclusive contract with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), AquaSol delivered a comprehensive feasibility study for a proposed large-scale commercial tilapia cage culture project on Lake Victoria, Uganda. The project was undertaken in partnership with Chemonics International and a local Ugandan investor.
AquaSol’s scope covered an extensive site search across Lake Victoria, identification of suitable hatchery locations, assessment of local infrastructure, environmental and social impact studies, development of commercial production protocols, and delivery of a detailed European Union market analysis. The engagement also included preparation of a bankable financial feasibility analysis and a strategic marketing plan to support long-term commercial sustainability.
