National Shrimp Industry Restructuring Programme – New Caledonia
AquaSol was appointed by Etablissement de Régulation des Prix Agricoles (ERPA) to deliver a multi-year, industry-wide advisory programme aimed at restoring competitiveness and profitability to the New Caledonian shrimp farming sector. The project was structured in two phases and engaged a world-class, multidisciplinary team of shrimp farming experts.
Phase I focused on a comprehensive national audit of the shrimp farming industry, covering all hatcheries, grow-out farms, and feed manufacturers operating in New Caledonia. The audit identified critical technical, biological, and operational inefficiencies that were driving high production costs and undermining sector competitiveness.
Phase II transitioned into an industry reorganisation and implementation phase. AquaSol specialists worked on-site with local stakeholders to implement targeted improvements across farming practices, feed strategies, genetics, biosecurity, engineering systems, and workforce capability.
