Modern Home - Greenfield Marine Fish Farming
AquaSol was engaged by Modern Home Co. W.L.L., a Bahraini investment group, to support the evaluation of a greenfield marine aquaculture investment in the Sultanate of Oman. The engagement involved an extensive coastal site search from Muscat to Salalah to identify locations suitable for commercial marine fish farming.
During the assessment, several sites designated for aquaculture development were found to present elevated biosecurity risks due to the seasonal presence of harmful algal blooms (HABs). As a result, AquaSol advised a strategic shift from the originally proposed offshore net-pen system to a land-based recirculating aquaculture system (RAS). The engagement also included in-depth seafood market research in the UAE and ongoing coordination with senior regulatory and government stakeholders in Oman.

- Assessed biosecurity and environmental risks associated with harmful algal blooms
- Recommended an alternative land-based RAS production strategy
