King & Wood Mallesons
Crustaceans
AquaSol was retained by King & Wood Mallesons, acting for the Commonwealth of Australia, to provide expert biosecurity and aquaculture advice in relation to two legal proceedings arising from the 2016 outbreak of White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) in the Logan River and Moreton Bay, Queensland.
AquaSol’s biosecurity expert supported matters involving Gold Coast Marine Aquaculture Pty Ltd and Tweed Bait Pty Ltd, both of which related to the source, spread, and management of the WSSV outbreak. The engagement required independent, technically rigorous assessment of aquaculture biosecurity practices, disease pathways, and risk management measures in a highly scrutinised regulatory and legal context.

- Supported legal counsel in complex regulatory and dispute proceedings
